PERMANENT COSMETICS 101

Please read the following carefully

  • No soaking or sweating for 1 week. Quick showers are OK, do not let the water hit the face directly. No rivers, lakes, streams, pools, hot tubs etc. for 10 -14 days.

  • Initial swelling, redness, peeling and fading are apart of the process and is normal! Color may be intense at first, but will heal within 10-14 days. Keep this in mind, if you have any special events/vacations planned.

  • Normal makeup wear can be resumed 5 days after procedure.

  • Pigment loss is normal. You can expect pigment loss up to 50%. A brighten/darkened affect will show, then gradually lighten during the healing process.

  • Permanent Makeup is a multiple session process and takes time to build the final result. A perfecting appointment is included in the cost and is scheduled 6-8 weeks from initial appointment.

  • Permanent makeup heals differently for every client and skin types. Fading over time will occur due to lifestyle, skin care products, diet, medications and environment. Remember this is semi-permanent. Touchups, over time, may be necessary to maintain.

    • If you have oily skin, you may require additional procedures.
  • I acknowledge that the proposed procedure(s) involve risks inherent in the procedure and have possibilities of complications during and/or following the procedures such as, but not limited to infection, misplaced pigment, poor color retention or hyper-pigmentation.

  • Permanent Makeup (PMU) can be painful. There are numbing solutions, that will be used before and during the procedure to help with comfort.

  • Topical anesthetics are used to numb the area to be treated. Lidocaine, Prilocaine, Benzocaine, Tetracaine and Epinephrine in a cream or gel form may typically be used. If you are allergic to any of these ingredients please inform the artist prior to booking.

  • Procedures will not be done on individuals who are HIV positive, who have certain immunodeficiency disorders, eczema or rosacea and are hemophiliac unless they are cleared by a physician.

  • If you are prone to cold sores or fever blisters, (herpes simplex virus), there is a high probability that you will get them. It is advised that you call your doctor to inquire about a prescription for an anti-viral to help prevent this from occurring.

  • Retin A, Renova, Alpha Hydroxy and Glycolic Acids must not be used on the treated areas. They will alter the color.

  • You have to be off any kind of Accutane for 1 year – NO Exceptions!

  • Must be Chemotherapy free for ONE YEAR!

  • Permanent make up cannot be performed if you are pregnant or nursing.

  • If you are required to be on antibiotics including dental procedures, you must confirm and receive a doctors clearance letter prior to receiving permanent makeup.

  • Failure to follow aftercare instructions may result in infections, pigment loss or discoloration.

  • Aftercare instructions will be explained verbally and written instructions will be given . l will, to the best of my ability, follow the aftercare instructions provided to me.

  • I accept responsibility for explaining to my PMU artist, my desire for specific colors, shape and position for any procedure completed.

The goal is to start conservative, which allows me to add more during the perfecting appointment. Permanent makeup does not replace the makeup you would normally wear. Consider permanent cosmetics as an enhancement. Think NATURAL!
